  • Yes. Kooee Kids Nature Play holds current public liability insurance and operates in line with duty of care and safety requirements.

  • Kooee Kids Nature Play is led by a degree-qualified teacher with experience in both education and bush kindy settings. Our educators and support staff bring a mix of education, outdoor learning and bush kindy experience. All staff hold a current NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) and first aid training.

  • Nature play involves inherent risks such as uneven ground, climbing, weather exposure and interaction with natural elements. At Kooee Kids, we intentionally balance risk and safety through careful planning, active supervision and ongoing dynamic risk assessments. Our educators support children to assess risk, build confidence and make safe choices.

  • Yes. Kooee Kids Nature Play uses written risk assessments alongside ongoing dynamic risk assessment to support safe, age-appropriate nature play experiences. Educators also conduct a daily safety sweep of the area before and during sessions. Risk assessments are reviewed regularly and adapted to weather, location, group needs and activities.

  • Kooee Kids Nature Play operates with small group sizes and low educator-to-child ratios, typically around 1:6 to 1:7, depending on the age of the group, program type and activities on the day. Ratios are adjusted as needed to support safety, connection and quality supervision.

  • Minor injuries such as scrapes or bumps are treated on site with first aid. Parents are notified as appropriate. In the event of a more significant injury or incident, families are contacted immediately and an incident report is completed and shared for review.

  • Yes. Kooee Kids has policies and procedures covering health and safety, child protection, inclusion, supervision, and risk management. Full policies and risk assessments are available upon request.

  • Programs run in most weather conditions, as experiencing nature in all seasons is part of our philosophy. In cases of extreme weather or unsafe conditions, sessions may be modified, relocated or cancelled, with families notified as soon as possible.

  • Yes. A completed waiver and enrolment form is required before your child can participate in any program.
